BMS Martial Art is dedicated to teaching personal self defense techniques that equip individuals for real-life challenges. Our curriculum emphasizes practical skills, mental resilience, and emotional strength, supplemented by holistic health practices derived from ancient Chinese traditions.
Train With The Best
With over 45 years of experience, Steve Jones is a modern martial arts master. After gaining a foundation in Tai Chi, Aikido, Kyushindo, and Lau Gar Kung Fu Jones' path evolved in 1985 when he began training under the late Master Derek Jones in his Body Mind Spirit fighting system—a turning point in his journey. After Derek’s untimely passing in 1992, Steve led his school in Shepherd’s Bush for 35 years before moving to Covent Garden.
His experience extends beyond the dojo—he has worked as a nightclub bouncer, celebrity bodyguard, and fight coordinator for The Prodigy, Divine Comedy, and Ali G. In 2005, he published The Intelligent Warrior (HarperCollins), a best-selling book on martial arts and mindset.
Now based in Covent Garden, Steve continues to teach both in person and via Zoom.
